HAWA MAHAL JAIPUR
Hawa Mahal is majestic in Jaipur and was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. Its architect was Lal Chand Usta. It is a five-storey building with 953 very beautiful small and attractive lattice windows. The basic reason for making these lattice windows was that the women of the Royal family could see the ceremonies on the streets in front of the palaces from these windows and no one could see them. And the sacrificial winds coming from the windows kept the palace cool.
This palace is built of lime and red and pink sandstone. Its height is 87 feet. On each of its windows, there are very attractive carved jaalis and domes of sandstone. Hawa Mahal was the favourite resting place of Maharaja Jai Singh, as its interiors were very beautiful. The cold air was always coming from all the room windows.
